My account balance keeps going to 0 after I have saved about $20. Ive never used the balance, but it keeps dropping to 0 for some reason. It has happened to me twice now.

I contacted them at least 40times after my debit card expired to send a new one or after the company closed to send me a check, they kept asking to tax my drivers licence copy and other papers that show my address but after faxing several times they kept saying it wasn't clear enough to see or they never got my fax, I never got my $800back and I'm a single mom and used this account to trying to save and now I feel they literally stole my funds and if they get away doing this to hundreds of people where is this going?

Upside Did Not Process Money Pak Reload

I purchased a Money Pak from 7-11 in the amount of $150.00. I tried to apply the money onto my Upside card, but when I checked my balance it hadn't processed. I waited until the next day, still the amount did not show up. I contacted Upside Card and they stated that they did not have a record of this transaction. I then contacted Money Pak and they stated that it was processed on their end. I spent the next week (now two months later) trying to get my money. They claim that they can't do anything because they show it has been processed. They asked me to contact my card company and they said they did not have any record of it. They didn't ask me for a copy of my account or anything. I even contacted Upside with a representative from Money Pak on the line as I was instructed to do by them. Even though the guy from Money Pak was told by Upside that they did not have a record of it, the guy told me that I should wait for my card to conduct an investigation. I called MoneyPak today and talked to Andre and she stated that there was nothing that she could do. Since then, I have not purchased another Money Pak and refuse to do so ever again. I'm waiting for my Upside card balance to hit 0, because I'm going to close their account. I don't think they are a credible company and they are ripping people off. I'm contacting the Better Business Bureau, but looking at the other complaints that have not been resolved, I'm not optimistic.

OMG absolutely I cursed them off a use they froze my account I had my income tax deposited now I can't touch any money and they don't give a *** same with my work paycheck now . I can't touch it .

EXACT same thing happened to me with MoneyPak and Upside Visa. Stay far away from both companies if at all possible.

No one and I mean no one who works for either company is even remotely willing to help you get your money back, so you are pretty much S.O.L. I lost $225 to these scam artists.

UPSIDE VISA refusing to close account & pay me my money

I used their website to get a Companion card for my account. The website would not validate my information (same info on the account for nearly 4 years). Instead, they flagged it & marked my account as Potentially Fraudulent, & demanded I send copies of my ID, SS Card (whole card & number) along with my utility bills to their main office fax. They will not unblock my account no matter the fact that I have validated all information & more with them. After 3 weeks of this, I have demanded they close my account & issue a check for the money in the account. They are now refusing to do so unless (you guessed it) I fax my SS card, ID, and bills proving my information. My information (even my address) has remained the same since before I even used them, yet this is the second time they havce blocked my account for no reason. Still, they will not give me access to my money in any circumstance. They are a ripoff. If I could find a way to press charges against them for attepmting to commit fraud on my account for demanding every ounce of sensitive personal information & holding my money against my expressed wishes; I would. Do not deal with them.

They also marked my account as fraudulent, sent them my personal info over and over, they said it was to dark and could not unblock my account, I have around $800.00 in that account sitting there since over a year now, There NEEDS to be a class action suit against them!!

Froze my card with my tax refund on it

they told me to fax several items so i did and i faxed 12 extra pages of proof of who i am . i was told the 1st time i faxed to the wrong number even though they gave me the number. I then faxed it to the correct number and my card is still frozen. I am highly upset I am going to the police and the media today. i have been reading other reviews about them saying they did the same thing to them. PLEASE DONT EVER USE UPSIDE VISA PREPAID CARD OR METABANK. THEY WILL LET YOU ACCESS MOST OF YOUR CASH AND THEN WHEN IT GETS LOW THEY WILL FREEZE IT SO THEY CAN CONTINUE TO USE YOUR FUNDS

They did the same thing to me . I am going through that now .

I sent over all my info then when I called they said they didn't receive it . I can't access any of my accounts at all . There employees are rude especially Dillan badge number 1955 was yelling and talking over me . I can't get any money at all this is ridiculous .

I can't pay any bills nor put gas in my car to go to work . I wanna cry right now

The only company worse that Meta Bank is Green Dot. Often they are hand in hand when it comes to customer DIS service. You can load money in mere seconds. If/when the randomly choose to put a hold on your fund, you will be required to prove that you are who you say you are and even then, it doesn't matter. They will make you jump through hoops and make you wait. When they are ready, they will release your funds and cancel your card and you dare not ask them to give you a reason.

To say that they SUCK is an understatement. Dealing with them makes you feel like you are passing your request under a door and waiting for someone to pass you back a response.

If one or two people say the same thing, perhaps its a fluke. If you read about hundreds of dissatisfied customers online that say the same thing, then you can believe that it is the truth.

The sad part is that Meta Bank and Green Dot continue to grow and expand. Greendot is in bed with Walmart now and they are the money loading source for many pre paid credit cards. If and when they choose, they will put your money on lock down and you will have to deal with this BS method of customer service as your only remedy.

PLEASE don't allow them to ***. If you must deal with them, limit your risk and don't expect a solution to happen overnight. They don't care and it shows.

Ripped off for $50.00

On Oct. 29, 2012, I put down a deposit with AT&T for phone service which I cancelled the next day and had a hard time getting a refund from them, but on Dec. 01, 2012 they came through with the deposit and told me it would be in my account that day. However, it didn't show up. I wait a couple of days for the refund to show up yet it didn't and Upside card made me believe that the problem was with AT&T and that they had never received the refund. Two month later my fight with AT&T ended when they sent me an official letter explaining how they did indeed make that refund and the problem was that Upside card would not release it back in to my account. I contacted Upside card and they finally admitted that they had the refund and they would email me a dispute form to me and they I in turn would fax it back to them and they would release the funds in to my account. They lied every time they told me that the email had been sent and after verifying my email address they lied and said that they had just faxed it not 5 minutes before I called. Yet to date I have not received the email nor had the refund deposited in to my account. I guess it is theirs now. I know I'll never see it.

Upside credit card is a ripoff!

I cancelled a student upside card. They then charged me for $29.95 annual fee. When I called about the fee, they said I had $1.72 left in the account so I had to spend that first. I told them to keep the money in the account and refund the $29.95. The foreign speaking man said that there was another fee to request the form to request the fee which they should never have charged since the card was closed previously. THEY ARE A RIP OFF. So the this fee was to be on top of the other fee. I said forget it.

This absolutely the worse company I've ever dealt with. I had my refund check put on this ridiculous card and have not been able to.get.funds in 2 years.

Everytime you try to.use the card they will mark it potentially fraudulent

I've sent in the necessary documents they requested me to send and their reply is its hard to read. How can a prepaid company hold your funds. I can't understand anything that they are saying. But every month they keep deducting $4.95 fee.

I've since moved to another state and address doesn't match. I will never recommend anyone to use this company.

I can begin to describe the *** I'm in the middle of. I'm talking to these folks I can't understand.

The card expired. We want new cards. We have nearly $200 on the card. They're asking for documents again.

It's like reapplying. Add this we all have moved. So no utility bill or license will match anything on file. I went online today to update profile.

That would've helped, I guess. But can't do it online. I got the card for my son. A student in Indiana.

His drivers license will not have the right address on file. He's a student!!! Agent tells me any refund will go to the old address.

They are purposely going to send a check to the wrong address?? I want out!!!!

Do not use UPside Visa Card

UPside visa is absolutely unreliable. Do not be fooled by their attractive card designs, their service absolutely does not meet standards by any stretch of the imagination! Say that you were falsely charged by a company...what do you automatically think to do? Call the card company for a chargeback! BUT NO. IF you try to chargeback they will automatically side with the other company. They are from india, and are hard to understand, plus they sell your information. Please...people...do NOT USE UPSIDE VISA... I've lost about $500 because of this company...it is really difficult to remain composure...

Upside Visa Has Refuses to Credit My Account

Upside refuses to issue Credit to my Card ... has effectively Stolen over $150.00! I had a routine purchase return to Sears. Sears immediately Credited the purchase back to my Upside Card. A week later I called Upside, as the credit had not reflected. The girl I spoke with (Indian accent) HUNG UP on me in the middle of the conversation. She pretended not to hear me and repeated OVER me "that I must call back later". That phone call cost me $3.00, as do ALL customer service attempts for help. I called back two days later - Upside Card Rep was interested only in getting my off the phone as quickly as he could. He told me to wait for Two Days and I would see the credit ... Lie. After two more days and no credit, I called again ($9.00 now in customer service fees for the same problem). The Upside Card rep said the SAME thing the last guy did. She claimed to be a supervisor, told me that if I logged into my account tomorrow or the day after that, I'd see the credit. By the way, ALL THREE of these people blamed the problem on Sears! I calmly told each one that Sears was fast, professional and honest in the Credit process - that they had provided me with a WRITTEN RECEIPT for the credit, etc. I believe the call center was in either India, Malaysia or some other remote country, as they had no real knowledge of Sears to begin with - other than a QUICK pointing of blame. This is what you get when you deal with seedy companies who's target audience is the "pre-paid crowd", and yes, I'm part of that crowd. I'm not particularly surprised. Side note: When you log into Upside's site, there is a "faster way to get help" by sending an email from within your account dashboard ... BS!!!!! You can send one, two or a thousand emails, nobody will read them and nobody will reply.

Rip off pre paid debt card

I have cystic fibrosis so I do not have much money to start with. I started using this debt card called upside card its a pre paid visa card.. They charge you every time that you call there customer service sometimes up to $3.00 and then it cost s you 99$ every time you call just to check your balance its like the only way that they get paid is by these fees. I have never heard of a pre paid card like this in my life and I have used them for many years I have heard of them charging you $1.00 every time you the card but not like this then when you talk to them about it they never have any answers for you.. I was checking to see if my check was there and because it was not I got charged $2.00 and now i am in the neg and that is just not fair its like they get paid a bonus if we call them I am now looking for a new card and will be changing as soon as possible I also know that there are some pre paid cards out there that they have fees each month but never each time you call this company is no good please be ware

Hi my name is Harold e sanders jr , yes the pre paid upside visa is a crooked company! Yes, I am also disabled and live on social security disability!

This card literally stole , 300.00 from my account. They claim too have held a transfer for 11 days and placed it when I got paid! Before this I had my account information changed due too fraudulent procedures! What I did not realize is that the upside card is the crooks!

Please do not get this card! The above fees are nothing compared too the inside theft! They are owned by Meta Bank, I would be weary of them! They seem too back upsides fraudulent actions.

Walmart money , visa or MasterCard backed by ge capital is who I switched too! A well known honest bank and walmarts good name with it!

Sad too say MasterCard and visa lease their name too an illegal card like upside! They really cheapened there image!

I got this card for my teen to use but realize now I made a *** mistake. They charge you every time you load money on it PLUS a monthly fee for the pleasure of having the card in a wallet.

If you lose the card, they charge a $9.00 replacement fee and if you want to close the account they charge you a $12.00 fee to send you back your own money and it takes 6-8 weeks. I had trouble with customer service putting me on hold for the most basic of questions, ie, how long will it take for a replacement card to arrive? Answer: Please hold. Outsourced customer service was awful, supervisor was no help.

Horrible rip off.

I have Direct Deposit of my childrens Fathers Death benifits from Social Security and they were deposited the 3rd of may and was informed for the third time I needed to send proof to verify who I was, due to fact they mis-spelled my name on my card..I can understand the first time I faxed all my info after waiting two hours on hold...but this is third time and they told me that this time they thought I was deceased!!!.. and my rent is late and getting charged late fees my waher dryer payment.

My electric...and said be fixed in 24 to 48 hours..not fixed and deparment risk is closed till Monday and they have no direct number for risk deparment!! And say theres nothing they can do with fact $2500.00 is not able to be accesessed..and last month went through same thing said they fixed it in computer and ripped me off $500.00 .

I changed my card to a new Company that is amazing good but this was my last Direct Deposit. I have been dealing with these jers for the past month now and I still do not have my tax refund. It is on the card but as soon as the funds got on the card they flagged my account potentially fraudulent.I called them waited 2 hours for someone then they told me to fax over my id ss card and copy of lease.

I did that and then they said they only received the ids and nothing else that can not be because the id and ss card was on same page that I fax. They have had my refund check for the past month now I filed form 3911 with the IRS and I called them they said they received the form and to wait 7-10 days for paper check. Not so because upside punk ///es still have the money on the card.

And oon top of things they charge me a monthly fee and how is that if I cant touch the money what makes them think that they can. This is not fair.

I like upside card, I have had my refund deposited and credits post correctly to my account. It's actually one of the better prepaid cards out their.

As far as the tax refund not posting it is not the card, the IRS has been having issue's with their deposits and has been giving out misleading information. (I prepare taxes and have several people complain about their money not being deposited into their regular accounts) The customer service fee could be a bit cheaper but if you do everything online their is not cost to you.
